When you are diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, a lot of new stuff comes into your life. Stuff to check, stuff to inject, stuff you have to do or not do, eat or not eat . . .   There really is a lot to learn. But don't worry! All of this stuff, the basic stuff that someone with diabetes needs to know about, is what we're going to talk about here.

Checking blood sugar and taking insulin is, of course, some of the most basic stuff of all. Then there is food and exercise. All this helps you to stay healthy and avoid complications — something else it's important to know about, even though you may not want to.

Then there is all of the stuff you are probably feeling . . . stuff you may never have felt before. We'll talk about that, too.

Finally, there's some cool stuff  to know about — we call it gear and gadgets — that can help make life a little easier for you day to day.
