Tips to help make your trip through airport
security go faster than a speeding jet More travel tips > |
You're at the airport, ready to hop on your flight and start the most amazing vacation ever. But there's a little problema checkpoint with a security screener who's staring at your diabetes supplies, frowning. Great...
Don't worry! The U.S. government's Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has a few suggestions to help make your trip through airport security go smoothly.
To start:
- Let the screener know that you have diabetes and are carrying your supplies with you.
- Tell screeners if you are wearing an insulin pump and, if necessary, advise the screener that it cannot be removed since it is surgically implanted.
- Let screeners know if you are experiencing low blood sugar and need medical attention.
Check out this JDRF story for more tips from the TSA, plus a list of supplies you can take through the security checkpoint once they have been screened.
Have a great trip!
