Tips to help make your trip through airport
security go faster than a speeding jet

'Excuse Me, Is that a Needle?

You're at the airport, ready to hop on your flight and start the most amazing vacation ever. But there's a little problema checkpoint with a security screener who's staring at your diabetes supplies, frowning. Great...

Don't worry! The U.S. government's Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has a few suggestions to help make your trip through airport security go smoothly.

To start:

  1. Let the screener know that you have diabetes and are carrying your supplies with you.
  2. Tell screeners if you are wearing an insulin pump and, if necessary, advise the screener that it cannot be removed since it is surgically implanted.
  3. Let screeners know if you are experiencing low blood sugar and need medical attention.

Check out this JDRF story for more tips from the TSA, plus a list of supplies you can take through the security checkpoint once they have been screened.

Have a great trip!
