Everyone  kids and adults with or without diabetes  can improve their health by following a nutritious and balanced diet. If you have type 1 diabetes, keeping an eye on the food you eat is especially important because food has such a big effect on your blood sugar levels. Still, you may be surprised to learn how many different foods can be included in the diet of a person with diabetes.

To make sure you're eating in the most healthful way you can, you need to have a little information, some good self-control, and a big helping of common sense.
