Diabetes: A Poem by Rachel, 15

When I really think,

I realize that my Diabetes can really stink.

All the shots, infusion set changes, finger pokes, and fears,

Can bring so many tears.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one,

Like nobody understands, like I have no one.

Sometimes it feels like I have so many curses,

But I can live a normal life with the help of my doctors and nurses.

Sometimes I wonder why did this happen to me,

But then I remember Jeremiah 29:11, God has a plan for me.

I need to stay strong and fight,

I'll battle this with all my might.

I'll keep learning how to master and conquer my foe.

This Diabetes will not stop me, I promised myself so.
