The pump is great! I haven't had it for long, and I've already fallen in love with it! Anyone out there who is wanting a pump, or isn't sure...get the pump! It is one of the best things out there! The Deltec Cozmo is the one that I have. With the pump, I'm free to be me!

Becky, 9, Kansas
My life is amazing! I got the pump about 7 months ago. It's so much better than those disgusting shots! Even though there is a lot to learn about it that stuff is so important! And even though you can't eat some certain food like other kids, you're still normal and proud to be alive.

Jess, 11, Connecticut
I had the pump for a short perisod of time.  I have to say... I didn't like it!  It was weird having it attached to your body 24 hours 7 days a week.  So, now I am on the insulin pen.  I love it a lot.  It is sorta like the pump but for me it is way better.  You still have to give yourself more shots but I still have my freedom.  I used to be nervous giving myself shots with the pen in public but now what the heck, I don't care.  My BFF even saw me give it to myself before... I just seem to like the pen better, that's all!

"When I got the pump, I was so happy! It made my life so much easier. I still had a couple lows and highs with it—but you can never be perfect. I think that if your blood sugars are out of control and you need something to help you out, the pump is a good thing. What I like most about the pump is not always having to give so many shots in one day—it's just one needle in like 2-3 days. I think the pump is awesome!"

Lainey, 10
"I think the insulin pump is AMAZING. I LOVE IT!!! I have been diagnosed ever since I was 4 and now I am 10. Yes, diabetes is hard sometimes but NEVER give up."

Tracy
Well, I don't have the insulin pump, but I don't really plan on getting one because I don't want to have to feel like there is something constantly attached to my body.

Hannah, 10
I have been diabetic since I was 4 years old. I don't remember what it was like not to be diabetic. But since I went on the pump almost two years ago, my life has definitely changed for the better. I was scared at first, but now I wouldn't go back to shots (ever)! It is not a cure, but it is close to one for now and that is ok by me.
