Medtronic MiniMed says its new
pump helps make your diabetes management much easier. |
There's a New Pump in TownNew York, NY, February 3, 2004 — Did you ever wish that insulin pumps could be a little smarter? If so, then your wish has come true! The new Medtronic MiniMed Paradigm 512 insulin pump actually "talks" to the Paradigm Link blood glucose monitor. When you check your blood with the Paradigm Link monitor, your blood sugar number is automatically sent to your Paradigm pump. Then the pump tells you how much insulin it thinks you need. If you agree, you just push a button, and the insulin is released. (We think this was probably invented by someone who doesn't like math!)
Medtronic MiniMed says it makes your diabetes management much easier and cuts down on mistakes. The Paradigm Link monitor comes free with the Paradigm pump.
Smiths Medical's new Deltec Cozmo Insulin Pump has similar features and works with TheraSense's FreeStyle meter.
