JDRF Alabama Chapter kids meet with
Representative Spencer T. Bachus (R-AL)

Do you sometimes think that politicians and other lawmakers don't care about what kids have to say? Well, that's just not true. And the JDRF Promise to Remember Me program proves it.

The program continues the important work of the 2003 JDRF Children's Congress delegates - asking Members of Congress to "promise to remember" people affected by diabetes when making decisions about diabetes research.

The Promise to Remember Me program creates face-to-face relationships between ordinary kids with diabetes and the government officials who represent them.  The families of these kids are given the very special chance to meet with their representatives and speak to them about the things that concern them. Hundreds of these meetings have taken place all over the United States since 2000. That means hundreds of lawmakers are listening.
